Experience
Dr. Lanae St.John is a board certified sexologist with the American College of Sexologists (ACS) and professor of Human Sexuality at City College of San Francisco. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, St.John uses her breadth of training and expertise to help students, clients and readers to normalize conversations about sexuality, boundaries, respect, tolerance, and consent.
With a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she focused on Psychology and earned a Certificate in Women's Studies, St.John went on to received her Masters in Human Sexuality (MHS) and then completed her Doctorate in Human Sexuality (DHS) from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the World Association of Sex Coaches (WASC), and is a member of the Society for
the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS), the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), and the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH).
A mother of two teen young women, Dr. Lanae, brings her personal experience to her work as an expert on sex and parenting. Her specialty is coaching parents with the difficult task of teaching
their kids about sexuality openly and honestly.
As an Intimacy & Relationship Coach, she also works with private clients on a one-to-one basis or in a small group setting. She is skilled at helping women explore themselves better and figure out what turns them on.
Lanae is also available for individual consultations with other helping professionals to help expand the physician or therapist's knowledge of human sexual behavior (aside from the mechanics most professional know), so that they can work more efficiently with all their clients, no matter what the clients' sexual practice may be.
