Researchers Kelly Cookson and Margaret Robinson take audience questions in this 11-minute video (part 1 of 2) take audience questions on a variety of topics, starting with self-identification and the legal and social implications of sexual identities, such as a common belief that when someone changes their sexual identity, their past identities seem less authentic or accurate. A woman who identifies herself as from Washington D.C. (where the CARAS conference was held) notes that there seems to be more social acceptance in D.C. of alternate sexualities. Cookson discusses the role of commitment in alternative sexual relationships. Another audience member from D.C. speaks up to note that in the past, bisexual women were not as accepted in the local area but that that situation has improved through group meetings.
